For potato packing, Omron goes beyond inspection
While visiting the Omron stand at the PPMA Exhibition in 2008, managers from Greenvale mentioned that they had a requirement for an automated system to check that the correct promotional labels had been applied to packs before they were shipped to retailers. At first sight, the solution seemed straightforward – equip the packaging line with an Omron vision system to inspect the labels and thereby ensure that they correctly matched the label type entered by the line operator.
