Don Braggins set up his independent consultancy specialising in industrial applications of image processing in January 1983 in the early days of the vision industry. Prior to that he was Product Marketing Manager for Image Analysis products at Cambridge Instruments. He is a graduate of Clare College, Cambridge, a Chartered Engineer, and a Fellow of S.P.I.E., the International Society for Optical Engineering and an Associate Fellow of the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society. In 2003 he was elected to the five-member Executive Committee of the European Machine Vision Association.

Don Braggins compiled the Frost & Sullivan European Industrial Vision market reports published between 1987 and 1995 and subsequently for the annual Automated Imaging Association market report, and hence has an unrivalled knowledge of vision expertise available throughout Europe.
