The UKIVA is itself a founder member of the European Machine Vision Association, based in Frankfurt, which brings together both National Vision Associations and individual suppliers doing or wishing to conduct international business.
They hold an Annual Conference which will be in Istanbul in 2010.

The UKIVA is a member of the UK Consortium for Photonics and Optics, www.ukcpo.org and through them is a member of the Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network www.photonicsktn.org. The UKIVA also is represented on the committee of the Visual Information Engineering network of the IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology).
 

Advanced Manufacturing UK
This exhibition incorporated MEDTEC, Mtec, Machine Building Drives and Automation, VTX (The new name for IPOT), 3C and Practical Vacuum & Semiconductor Processing. It launched the UK's first ever Green Manufacturing Exhibition and Conference which focused on sustainable manufacturing processes and the introduction of eco-friendly products. Advanced Manufacturing took place at the NEC, Birmingham in March 2009. The UKIVA ran free seminars and PDF's of the presentations are available to download from
resources .

Next year the event will take place on 27/28th April.

The British Machine Vision Association
The British Machine Vision Association and Society for Pattern Recognition (BMVA) is the vision association for individuals involved in research and development of all kinds of vision system, not only for industrial applications. They run an Annual Conference usually at the beginning of September. The BMVA has charitable status.
The International Society for Optical Engineering
The International Society for Optical Engineering web site contains a great deal of information about all aspects of imaging.

Dublin City University
Dublin City University offers a remote learning Master's course in Machine Vision and their website has many other Machine Vision resources.
  

Process & Packaging Machinery Association
The PPMA is the UK's trade association for suppliers of processing and packaging machinery to the UK market and represents over 350 member companies. Its principle objective is to promote sales of machinery, both at home and abroad, through various projects and services of mutual benefit to both members and their customers by providing free technical and machinery information and advice.

The Exhibition for Processing and Packaging Machinery, the PPMA Show will take place at the NEC in Birmingham on 29 September - 1 October 2009.

BARA (formerly known as the British Robot Association) provides a voice for the Robotics and Automation Industries, when dealing with government, industry, financial and academic institutions. The aim of the BARA is to promote the use of, and assist in the development of Automation in British industry. Recently the BARA membership voted to join the PPMA and for the BARA identity to exist as a special sub-group within the PPMA with representation on the PPMA Board.

The 3rd International Conference on Imaging for Crime Detection and Prevention (ICDP-09) will be held on 3 December 2009, in London. It aims to create an important networking forum in which participants can discuss the present and future of image-based technologies for crime detection and prevention.
